West Haddon

dishFeedHalf an hour up the M1 is the Northants village of West Haddon. Fed up to the hilt not being able to get broadband, eleven residents have chipped in to form "West Haddon and Winwick Community Broadband Ltd."

We were kindly invited to attend the public launch of the West Haddon and Winwick Community Broadband Service on Friday 3rd October 2003.

The service is run on a not for profit basis and costs £27 per month, with a £100 set-up fee.

Connectivity

VanyagiAramiska provide a satellite link to a director's house in West Haddon.

802.11 Wi-Fi is used to link with other nodes in the village, and to provide the link to the neighbouring village of Winwick, 2 km away.
