Radio Plot

A friend has access to some radio site surveying software. Here's a plot using two site locations that may be used in the Council's Wireless Broadband Pilot.

Left hand site is the NTL tower at Linford Wood, estimated mast height of 25 metres. SP 84500 40200
Right hand site is Monkston near the H7 V10 Roundabout, mast height of 10 metres. SP 88750 38500

The distance between the sites is 4.6 km. Bearing 112.8º.

The lower green plot shows the terrain height. The contour of the Ouzel valley shows clearly on the right hand side.

Linford Wood NTL Tower as seen from Monkston V10 / Kilwinning Drive. A long lens was used!X axis - km. Y axis Height above sea level in metres.

The software reports 4.7 metre clearance at a distance of 2km from the NTL Tower.

Any tall trees in Campbell Park are going to give us problems.

Chainsaws anyone?

Conclusions

Looks promising - but close! Let's see what NTL have to say when they do an official plot!

Note. I've created the above plot purely for the groups' interest.
