Local Politics
One of the many unwritten rules of this campaign is to keep politics out: we
keep everything apolitical here! I do look for, and have received help from all
parties.
However, I must also remain vigilant; otherwise valued members leave:
Dear Nick,
I have today decided to unsubscribe.
It has been great to see the progress that you and the
group have made - I can still recall receiving my original 'leaflet' that
led me to join and support you (despite already having BB).
Personally I think you have done a great job and deserve a lot of thanks (no
doubt more than you will receive).
I joined as I subscribe to the Internet values and ideals of helping and
supporting each other.
One of the reasons I am leaving is that there appears to be a degree of
politics creeping in to the emails on the
informal email list and this is not something I feel comfortable with.
Whilst I support the idea of all getting decent access, this issue (whilst
it requires influencing politicians) does not require politics. I think the
most recent emails relating to
local election results was enough for me.........
Anyway, thanks for all of your efforts and keep up the good work. Remember -
there will be people who get BB access who do not even know about your
efforts and this should be taken as a sign of your success and hard work.
If you feel able to, please circulate this email.
All the best for the future,
iacta alea est, Milton Keynes. 11/6/04 |
