Appendix 9
Outline of A New Broadband Network Development Initiative Being Supported
By the Government – and Seeking MKC Support
The demand aggregation agenda has been elevated in importance and urgency
and a lead government department has been identified to act as the anchor
for the process. The importance of demand aggregation is that it creates
economies of scale, leading to a reduction in the public sector
communications bill and, more importantly, creates opportunities to increase
the infrastructure available for local backhaul1 and therefore reduce the
cost of such backhaul to local enterprises and community broadband
organisations. |
