My ADSL Connection
First the good news!
I have an ADSL connection!
Mark, my engineer friend from BT, came at 09:00, had his Nescafe, and he left me with
the carrier light on
my DLink Router glowing brightly.
I have a good signal with the exchange. The line loss is a mere 40dB,
which is very
promising for a 2 Meg connection.
Now the bad news...
Zen, my ISP, have not been informed by BT that I've been connected.
The router is unable to gain authentication with the BT network using the
credentials Zen supplied me.
I have been instructed to be "patient for a further 2 or 3 days".
A least I can say, in truth, I've got ADSL. I can't do much with it, other
than play with the RFC 1994 authentication protocol.
I took my revenge out on Loughton.
Richard and I dropped 300 leaflets there this afternoon.
